In the past week we’ve been to so many places trying out way too many dishes so before we bid adieu to 2011, we go on one last road trip to celebrate the past and what is yet to come.
What We Celebrated: The New Year and our new lives.
There’s nothing like a spontaneous road trip to celebrate the end of another blissful year. We took the Metro by storm and ventured high and low reaching to the ends of the highways for the last of our 12 day escapade.
Road Trip Rule #1: Never leave without a full tank. The same thing goes for our tummies. Our first stop was at Nomama Ramen in Quezon City to fuel our jets before continuing with the day’s series of unplanned activities, featuring a special guest from New York, Carl Navarro of S Models. Our former Fashion Assistant VivaLaVida also joined us for lunch sporting her new kinky curls.
The day turned into a mini fieldtrip as we ended up in Cubao Expo with a little bit of house hopping in between and finally capping it off by heading south to Tagaytay for some Hawaiian BBQ for dinner. The highlight of our day however was reconnecting with our childhood by bouncing out the fat we consumed on a giant inflatable castle. And by the tired look on our faces, you could tell that the 40 pesos spent for 20 minutes on an inflatable castle was definitely well spent.

What We Caroled:
We got a bit nostalgic while in Cubao Expo with all the vintage knickknacks left and right so we bought a couple of CD’s from Vinyl Dump to keep us company on the highway.
“Surfer Girl” by The Beach Boys
“Jumpin’ Jack Flash” by The Rolling Stones
“House of Balloons/Glass Table Girls” by The Weeknd
What We Wish:
2011 was a big year for STATUS from going monthly to producing our first fashion editorial. Our only wish for 2012 is for us to keep doing what we do best but only crazier, wilder, and even more fun from the previous year.
WTF:
A crazy turn almost had us ending the year with a bang, literally. A crazy turn on our way to a quick stopover almost had half the editorial team dead, if not, probably a really bad car crash with a couple of serious injuries. Guess an angel in the form of a lace cut-out dangling from the rear view mirror was watching over us or else we wouldn’t be alive now to tell this tale.
Happy New Year kiddos! -LADYZAZA
