Majestic like the ancient cultures that inspired the collection, Albert Andrada’s Holiday 2012 offering earns more than ooohs and aaahhhs from it’s dazed and amazed audience. If you’re not careful, you might just kowtow at its feet.
Seems that Albert Andrada has a slight penchant for royalty. As fresh as his Elizabethan-inspired Holiday 2011 collection is in our minds, we managed to forget that and everything else the moment his first new collection stepped on the runway. Felt like we were slapped back to Ancient China and God knows we loved it. Sleek and silky column dresses, jewel encrusted serpentine gowns, to smooth flowing kimono reduxes comprised a feast that you won’t get in a take-out box.
The crowning glory of the collection was the finale piece strutted out by non other than the immortal Marina Benipayo. If you read our tweets that the only thing on that runway—other than the collection itself, of course—that deserved a crown was the immortal Queen of the Runways herself. Wham, bam, that was glam!—DEXYLEBOWSKI
