Green House on Stilts

House in Never LandDestroying or altering nature just to make houses is so ’90s. As Spanish firm Andres Jaque Architects shows us with the recently finished “House in Never Never Land,” working with and around nature makes for a better living  space.

This “green house” on stilts takes pride in the fact that no trees or any major shrubs have been taken out to make space for it. Not only was it placed between the greenery in the area but it also minimized any changes in the soil because the stilts did not take up that much ground.

The blue and yellow motif also makes for a relaxing view for the eyes. The only issue I have with this place would be the transparent doors and gigantic windows that dominate each room (including the bathroom). I know it’s deep in the woods and all but it’s still hard to feel at ease, knowing that people or some random animals would see you in your naked glory even from a couple hundred  meters away.

Saving the ground and the trees is already a big favor for the environment. Giving those cute creatures a free show is already pushing it. -RAYRAE
