Hot off a moving performance in SNL, multi-instrumental powerhouse Arcade Fire finally releases their music video to “The Suburbs,” the title track off their latest (and incredibly lauded) album.

Props to the band for their guest spot at Saturday Night Live, which, if you haven’t seen, you should check out. They got Andy Samberg rapping, and Scarlett Johansson hosting. It was a riot, showcasing the band’s adeptness with performances of “We Used to Wait” and “Sprawl II.” But on to the vid!
Directed by Spike Jonze, the 6-minute bit is set in the suburbs—a pause for surprised reactions—starring a bunch of rambunctious kids with bikes and BB guns. But it ain’t all sunny in suburbia, as the progressions take a twisted turn that even we can’t seem to fully grasp, and don’t care to grasp at all. As long as we can enjoy watching it over and over (even after having listened to the song over and over) we’re calling this another win in Arcade Fire’s blazing streak.—D-SIÓN
