Whenever I’m stressed I think of a beach. I think of waves tickling my feet and sun-kissed shores shining so brilliantly far away that it makes me squint in sheer awe. Gotcha! Although what I’ve been babbling about is true, my thoughts aren’t always so poetically composed. It’s just that when you hear Candy Claws’ In the Dream of the Sea Life (which has the Luzon islands for its cover!), your inner dreaminess will come out. Stay tuned because they might even go here this December!
The record is a musical companion to Rachel Carson’s book The Sea Around Us. Some sounds were recorded in Italy and the Philippines. Presently touring various places like Boston, Liverpool, and Switzerland–the band has a keen sense of atmosphere. Captivated by the depth and density of the sea–get ready to submerge and be smitten by their music. -TINDABS
