The Classic story of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland will be brought to life by Tim Burton‘s magic gothic hands, anticipated to be released in 2010. This film will fuse live-action and performance capture movement, making use of CGI and animation to tweak the actor’s movements.

Mateo Guez, a french filmmaker is the man behind “Off World,” and independent film shot entirely in Manila. This is a film of a man who’s set to find his roots in Smoky Mountain, one of the largest waste dumps here in the Philippines, where scanty houses and numerous marginalized families live. The story follows that man coming home from Canada, a few years after his adoption. He has to come into terms with the family he left behind, the lifestyle and culture he’s not used to, and more importantly, he has to come into terms with himself.

Four months to go, and we just don’t run out of maniacal things to say about Spike Jonze’s reimagining of Where the Wild Things Are.  This time it’s about Dave Eggers‘ book The Wild Things based on the screenplay he wrote for the movie which was based, of course, in the Sendak classic. How meta is that? But like the silhouette in the cover above, there’s something a little bit more grown up about it:

His father is gone, his mother is spending time with a younger boyfriend, his sister is becoming a teenager and no longer has interest in him. At the same time, Max finds himself capable of startling acts of wildness: he wears a wolf suit, bites his mom, and can’t always control his outbursts.

Just goes to show that good stories, no matter how many times they’re told, are always good. (via /Film)

For artist who’s been working for 27 years, it’s about time that Tim Burton shows the rest of his stuff to the public. To be launched with the book The Art of Tim Burton, these are just a preview of what the M0MA audience could expect this November–his world and characters taking shapes outside the most celebrated Burton medium.
