Gone are the days when fashion was an exclusive industry and was catered for the elitists, with brands now looking into interweaving their style with pop culture. 2017 was filled with collaborations, innovative marketing, ad campaigns, and projects that kept in touch with pop culture’s pulse, and the year jus started on the right track with Adidas and Dragon Ball Z’s latest collaboration, which you can read about here.
What other fashion x anime collaborations could we look forward to this year or the years to come? Here are some suggestions from STATUS.
Chanel x Cardcaptor Sakura
With Chanel’s light and frilly dresses and soft prints that would very much complement a Cardcaptor Sakura collaboration and adding a scepter wouldn’t hurt.
Gucci x Cowboy Bebop
Gucci is now playing with streetwear so why not mix in some anime while they’re at it. A good blend would be Cowboy Bebop; the colors of the show (red, green, and yellow) and its crime fighting theme already complement Gucci’s edgy look.
Supreme x Naruto
Supreme and Naruto are an inevitable duo. If Supreme would have an anime collaboration, it would be Naruto. Naruto characters already have the jackets to draw inspiration from or the subtle Japanese streetwear vibe, just check out Might Guy’s puffer vest.
Christian Louboutin x Sailor Moon
Christian Louboutin’s Spring/Summer pieces are popping with color and so is Sailor Moon. This colorful pack of girls would fit right into the shoes of Christian Louboutin. The colors, bows and gems are more than enough to be qualified for this collaboration.
