Johnny Langer of carnivalesque duo Man Like Me answers pretty short and straight to the point. That goes the same to the high-thumping, loud, British pop music and in-your-face lyrics that he makes with his partner-in-crime Peter Duffy. No fiddle-faddle for these guys.

Has London played some part in your sound?
Yeah, of course. London has played a big part in making me so it’s going to affect every aspect of what I do.
Your music is so energetic. What do you guys do before a show or a recording to pump up the performance?
Drink Vodka Red Bulls.
How much say do you get in your trippy music videos? Which one did you have the most fun shooting?
We don’t have that much say in the videos; we just have a say in finding the people we think are right. I had the most fun shooting the last one (“Peculiar”) as it was by far the easiest as we were not in it much.
I read you got compliments from Adele and Lily Allen when you guys were just starting. What has been the biggest compliment you guys received?
Shovel from M People said we were puka!
Give us tracks you’re into right now.
Cliff Twang’s “Nobody Can Cross It” it is a great example of how YouTube is the best for sampling. Todd Edwards’ “As I Am,” house and garage at it’s finest.
