Delicate femininity was the name of the game for Dubai-based designer Albert Andrada’s Spring/Summer 2013 collection. Inspired by Claude Monet’s Morning at Etretat, models gracefully glided down the runway in chiffon dresses of powder blue and pink, as well as knee-length dresses with pearl and floral beading that definitely oozed sweetness. Silk ruffles and lace details in white and lavender added drama the designs maintained its soft and ladylike quality. The first few looks actually reminded us of vintage coming out dresses of society’s leading ladies. Lace gloves anyone?
Of course, what would a coming out party be without a dashing escort, right? Albert served up beige and white suits, pastel trousers and lace button-downs in blues and whites. Ladies, these looks will be perfect if you have a gentleman caller swinging by your house for a little swing-on-the-porch time.
Further down the line, the collection matured into elegance as floor-length silk and lace gowns in soft pastels took over the runway. Ethereal crystal earpieces elevated the ladies to royalty (and when I say royalty, I mean model Charo Ronquillo.) One thing’s for sure, Albert Andrada’s Spring Summer 2013 collection makes us feel like a natural woman. *winkwink*—LET’S GET LAO
