“Franco for President” chimed Gabby Alipe (of Urbandub) mid-set as Franco, rock supergroup prepared for their next song during The Gathering album launch in Eastwood last Saturday. STATUS featured them in the Art over Mind issue and for a good reason. With the upcoming national elections less than a week away, trust your music if you can’t trust your politics. Agreed?
They always promise good vibes. Run into their poetic lyricism to feel inspired and comforted by their soothing blend of reggae, alternative rock and metal. That’s exactly what the crowd did as they rocked with the song “The Gathering.” Plus there was a guest appearance by Peter Tosh, Bob Marley’s contemporary whose voice cruised over the music.
So, “Vote wisely my friends” reminds Franco. “And don’t do drugs.” -SENORICA
