game.of.thronesFor the queen regents, lords of the North, wardens of the West, and Knights of Flowers: Winter is about to end as the spring for medieval fantasy TV is afoot.

It’s hard to believe that only ten episodes ago, we had our first introduction to George R.R. Martin’s vivid and gritty fantasy masterpiece.  To the people who weren’t hooked, we say that it’s your loss not ours. To the people who were, to the fellow GOT fanatics out there we yell, “SEASON TWO IS FINALLY HERE BABY!”
Now, I was never a fan of the whole fantasy genre, but after stepping out of 7th High at Fort Bonifacio for HBO Asia’s Game of Thrones 2 media event, my mind completely changed.

What would a STATUS girl be if she didn’t enjoy the food, drinks, friendly company, and photo opportunities abound but the true highlight of the event was the taste teaser I saw when we were all shown the first episode of the second season.

What got the whole room really excited though was when Jon Snow’s face boomed from the projector. We were given an exclusive first look at the dashing Kit Harrington as he the fans the lowdown on what to expect from Jon Snow in the coming season. Rejoice ladies: Jon finally gets some!

I think it automatically goes without saying that although I didn’t win the A Song of Ice and Fire box set they gave away through the Twitter promo, I definitely didn’t leave home empty handed, and I’m not just talking about the cool Iron Throne paperweight I brought back to the office like a trophy of war. Rest assured, my new found fandom, that I will be catching up and looking forward to watching Game of Thrones marathon-style before the second season catches up with me. After all, as the editorial team said, Game of Thrones is ‘part of my education’ here in STATUS.

Catch the Asian premiere on April 21, at 9pm exclusively on HBO.—LOSTGIRL
