Although we live our lives bound by gravity, a great deal of being human is in pushing and rising against it. We exhibit this by indulging in sports. Photographer Ryan McGinley understands this quite well, and it is this defiance against being grounded that he captures in his photo essay and video titled, “The Lightness of Being an Olympian.”
He takes inspiration from the athletes who will be competing in the upcoming Vancouver Winter Olympics. Follow their example. Go ahead and jump! -RAYRAE
