Origami? Not Really.

1Art and design always play with our perception. With French artist Guillaume Tartarat, you don’t need optical illusions to prove the point, because his graphic designs that may look like flat layered surfaces at first, are really animals in a seemingly origami-like fashion. Let his art ‘unfold’ in the next images.

The series of works is titled Le Bestiaire – Apolinaire, depicting animals through their stylized portraits. Amazing how he shows the depth of usually simplistic images through precise positioning of shapes. I’m not talking about depth in the kind of insight his art provokes–it’s more of how he makes his images pop out, I can almost feel its edges on my fingers. -TINDABS
