AMC hit show The Walking Dead will soon be coming out of the small screen and into the real world at Universal Studios Hollywood this July. The grand opening of the attraction would be the first to be based on a series and is to be run all year long after the success of the Halloween Horror Nights event from past years. The walkthrough park will feature animatronic walkers as well as real-life actors to portray the undead using the same make-up techniques and production design used by show.
“After six years of working on The Walking Dead, we have a great opportunity to take it out of the studio, off the soundstage, and into an attraction at Universal Studios Hollywood where guests can come face-to-face with walkers,” says Greg Nicotero (Director and Executive Producer of The Walking Dead.)
