Hips and Hair founder Jonathan Bussiere was into making artworks through screen printing that expose the trivialities of pop culture. It was in 2007 that he decided to transform his art to something wearable. Check out Hips and Hair’s Fall ’09 collection!
You might notice that girls and some pop culture-based technology such as the television and the camera are featured prominently on Jonathan’s shirts. He asserts that what you see on the shirts usually show the “glossy exterior” of pop.
The shirts primarily use both basic and neutral colors, with the images giving it that sometimes ironic anti-mainstream statement. If you’re not into just going with the flow mindlessly, then this one’s for you. –RAYRAE
