You graduated in NYU where you studied film, animation, and mythology. You’re an actor and musician too. You’re definitely a jack of all trades. How do you balance everything?
Jordan: It’s hard to balance different projects in different fields, because I find myself changing gears a lot…like hiking through different terrain without taking a moment to rest.
We heard that you love Woody Allen and his portrayal of New York neuroses. You grew up in NY too. Can you tell us how it shaped your talents and how you want to capture it if you’re going to do a film especially for that purpose?
Jordan: I always imagined what would happen if you put some of his characters in a scary movie, that had the structure of a horror film…I’ve written a few scripts that take a cross section of New Yorkers and put them in dangerous but hilarious situations…
You’ve collaborated with Sean Lennon and toured with the likes of Rufus Wainwright, and Cibo Matto. How did working with these people affect your style and perspective as an artist?
Jordan: Working with them, I think they’re eclectic styles influenced me, because we were always trying to combine different styles to explore new types of songs…from Brazilian pop, to hip hop to folk music, punk and heavy metal…I’m not as experimental these days…
Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Undead is described as a dark comedy. What are the things that make you laugh?
Jordan: I laugh at literally everything. People tell me to be quiet in movie theaters…and friends of mine who didn’t see me come into a theater will know I am there when the show starts cause they recognize my laugh. I love everything Seth Macfarlaine does and am incredibly jealous of his immense talent.
