Friction takes a fancy in figures. And you’ll see exactly that in Maya Munoz and Kiko Escora‘s new exhibit entitled Short Frictions.
Kiko Escora, dubbed the ‘Manila Animal,’ is a fitting description for someone who knows the intricacies underground workings of nightlife Manila.
Being an urban denizen has spilled and inked on his style of art, being quite talented from canvas to paper, to cloth (designs shirts, paints, does installations, djs and sketches). Known as a figurative painter, he has tied up with Maya Munoz in an exhibit entitled Short Frictions. Kiko shifts away from his usual street style and comes to examine his paintings through a painting. Can anybody say inception?

Still true to traditional style of oil on canvas, this is an interesting perspective to someone who has closely followed his body of work. You can check out his work on Short Frictions which will be on exhibit until November 6 at Manila Contemporary, White Space, 2314, Pasong Tamo Extension, Makati City. Drop by!–ROBIN SPARKLES
