Voices in My Head

MetropiaIn 2009 film Metropia, the voices in people’s heads are more than just a product of imagination or some psychological syndrome. They’re a consumerist means of controlling citizens. The film will be released in Sweden on Nov. 6, and more screen shots of the seemingly bleak future have been going around the cyberworld.

The movie was done by taking pictures of random strangers on the streets and animating them digitally. Just a look at the frown and grey-dominated  stills would lead us to expect something depressing–the type of flick you wouldn’t want to get stuck with on a rainy day. But like we said in our Fafi issue (STATUS Issue 07), it’s not everyday that you get to have a supermodel save your life.

Maybe the future isn’t  so bad after all. -RAYRAE
