The recently concluded MTV Video Music Awards gave us all kind of feels and as usual, did not disappoint. The three-hour show was hosted by Katy Perry and here are some of the best and memorable parts from it.
Kendrick Lamar’s Opening Performance
One of the big winners this year at the VMAs, which includes bagging the Best Video Award for his song “Humble” beating Bruno Mars and The Weeknd. He busted out “DNA” and “Humble” while his backup performers and set were on fire…literally.
Taylor Swift’s Music Video Premiere
What better time and place to launch your latest music video after months of being quiet? Give it to Taylor Swift to surprise every one of her “return” with a new song and music video entitled “Look What You Made Me Do.” The old Taylor is dead and this new one is mighty feisty.

The Attendance of Heather Heyer’s Mom
The victim from the Charlotteville’s white supremacist rally’s mother was at the show to give her thanks to everyone who reached out to her and her family for moral support. Heather Heyer’s mother Susan Bro said that she misses her daughter but knows that she’s there at the show in spirit with everyone. She also announced the winners for the Best Fight Against the System award and the Heather Heyer Organization.
Pink’s Acceptance Speech
Ellen DeGeneres presented Pink the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard award and the singer gave the best acceptance speech that she dedicated to her daughter Willow. “We don’t change,” Pink said and continues, “we take the gravel in the shell and we make a pearl. And we help other people to change so that they can see more kinds of beauty.” – THE D
