Mugler Women’s Spring/Summer 2013

Mugler conjures up the tropics through a rich palette of exotic sunsets, sea foam, ocean, concrete, earth, and lacquered wood. Aside from the hourglass silhouettes of nipped waists and flouncy shoulders, there are also tailored and relaxed layers akin to kimono. My favorite pieces are the slick ones—that sunset dress, those jade colored pants, and the carapace-like tiered skirts and cocoon dresses.

We can see how Nicola Formichetti‘s been channeling all that inspiration from his travels lately. Wasn’t he on holiday in Bali in August? (Thanks, Twitter. You guys should follow him on Tumblr, too. He posts and reblogs the funnest things, sometimes hints to the next collection. Sorry, are my fan boy panties showing?) —ME LOVE YOU LOONG TIME
