One Foot in the Grove is the kind of art exhibit that does not depend on a solid concept, mostly because there isn’t one. Mutate Britain, the organizer, simply describes it as a “festival of art, music, and food held in a unique location on the Portobello Road in Ladbroke Grove, West London.”
Then again, street art was never about profound concepts but about individuality staining the standardized and boring cityscape. So add the words art, music, and food together and you already have one damn good enough reason to go. Artists such as Mode2, Jim Mahfood, and SHOK-1 will showcase their own graffiti and sculptures which add just a bit more color and meaning to the streets.
The art show will last until Oct. 25 so be sure to bring your camera. -RAYRAE
