Sony gives the world early nifty-gifties with the launch of the new Walkman Series.

The Walkman has come a long way, from being the (recently phased out) bulky cassette decks that our parents used in the 80s where they had to push rewind and stop often just to hear their favorite song, to the sleek, mobile touchscreen mp3 players that we have now. Being the innovator of gadgets and gizmos, Sony gives us four players to choose from and to specifically fit the modern audiophile’s demanding needs.

1. X-TREME

The X series is here. With features like 32GB capacity, 3″ OLED touchscreen, Wi-fi, and built-in noise cancellation, this badass player is perfect for surfing the web, watching videos on the go or listening to your favorite music without interruption. And, oh, you don’t need to worry about battery life; because of the 33-hour battery power, you could leave your charger at home.

2. SLEEK AND SCREAMING

Perhaps the “S” in the S-series stands for “slim” because this badboy is so sexy you just have to snag one. It’s equipped with a 2.4-inch (QVGA) screen, a Lithium-ion battery rated for 42 hours of audio or 6.4 hours of video playback, and a kickstand, no need to mount it up to any additional accessories. Not convinced yet? Well the S also has built-in microphone, FM tuner, an alarm clock with a sleep timer, and you can unplug the earphones to hear this baby scream with a built-in loudspeaker. Available in raspberry red or blackhole black.

3. EASY, EVERLASTING, EFFICIENT

The E mainly is a video player but this guy can do lots of other things with your media.

With the drag and drop function, you won’t have to ever worry about making a playlist ever again, and if you are a modern Rob Gordon from High Fidelity and like your music arranged not alphabetical nor chronological, but autobiographical, the E-series is your buddy, specifically its SensMe™ tone analysis feature that keeps your music in tune with your mood. 4. YOUR NEW BEST FRIEND

Now, the W series is probably the best of all four in my very humble and unsolicited opinion. Look Ma, no hands! This will be a very handy gadget for those who have a proactive lifestyle. Gym rats will be very happy to know that this player/headphone is water-resistant, has the power to play up to 11 hours of music and when the batteries die out, a very fast charger gets you up and running again in no time.
