If Only It Were Autumn

Thursday, March 11th, 2010

nullIf only we can switch seasons with one push of a button, then it wouldn’t be hard to imagine myself wearing one of these new trench coats by Topman. These pieces from what they call “The Trench Coat Project” are a collaboration with different designers like Mihara Yasuhiro, Tim Soar, B Blessing, and stylist Alister Mackie. Wouldn’t it be nice to stroll along some park and stand out amid the falling autumn leaves while wearing one of these? (more…)

Oscar 2010 Fashion Round-up

Tuesday, March 9th, 2010

1The annual Academy Awards is a celebration of tremendous talent as much as it is a huge fashion fiesta—we all know that; and this year is no exception. While hundreds of stars dazzled on the red carpet, here are my top ten fashion favorites. (more…)

Modern Men

Monday, March 8th, 2010

1To all you modern women, I have a question. How fashionable would you allow your man to be? I mean, fine, let them wear the most exquisite shoes and watches. Most of the  time, that does the trick right? But with Gareth Pugh’s Autumn/ Winter collection, we see men wearing wide-leg pants or is that a skirt? (more…)

Lens Flair

Saturday, March 6th, 2010

1If you haven’t noticed, then you should probably get your eyes checked; coz fashionable eyewear is the new key accessory. Seen on the likes of Kanye, Cudi, and Gabe Saporta of Cobra Starship—fancy lenses give any outfit a pop of attitude ranging from playful and quirky to sleek and chic. (more…)

The Golden Rule

Friday, March 5th, 2010

1If there’s such thing as the Midas touch in fashion, it’s  Balmain’s latest collection. I can go on and on talking about their signature strong shoulders but at the end of the day, their RTW Fall 2010 designs spell out the golden rule which is to look so good that your natural spark’s bound to come out in every way. (more…)

On the Plus Side

Thursday, March 4th, 2010

1 You know you got the right jeans when even if you’re wearing the simplest tops–you’re still looking hot. When I say hot, that means absolutely no awkward sagging or those unpleasant muffin tops.  With Blue Notch Spring/ Summer 2010 collection named New Resistance, we simply can’t resist these jeans with zipper and rivet detailings moved to the side instead of the front. (more…)

Breaking the Ice

Wednesday, March 3rd, 2010

1They say there’s pleasure in discovering what makes a serious woman tick like in those black and white films where the female leads are so attractive because of their distant, almost icy veneers–as if you can never spell what’s going on in their heads. Well, with Iceberg’s Fall 2010 collection, you get to break the ice by knowing at least what these women wear. See the runway shots from Milan Fashion Week after the jump. (more…)

Reality Check

Tuesday, March 2nd, 2010

1You’re only as good as your last project, so they say. With Christian Siriano’s Fall 2010 collection, we’re awed the way Posh was when she saw Christian’s collection for the Project Runway Season 4 Finale. But unlike winners of other reality shows (ANTM to be exact haha), Christian continues to be a winner in the real world with his designs for Payless. (more…)

The Cold Treatment

Monday, March 1st, 2010

1What commonly should ‘pale’ in comparison with the much praised tanned look is the alabaster skin of vampires that was popularized these days by Twilight celebrities Kristen Stewart, and Robert Pattinson. But it’s not just these teenybopper favorites that make us love this cold and almost surreal transparency of complexion, because designers like Alexander Wang, and Proenza Schouler favor the pale look for their Fall/Winter runway shows. (more…)

Whether or not you’re one of them, I suggest you still read on because this Summer 2010 collection is a feast to the eyes. (more…)

Tip the Balance

Thursday, February 25th, 2010

1The battle between good and bad has been around since God knows when. Amazing how evident it is in the runway too! During the Fall/Winter 2009, almost everyone was slipping on metal and spikes, fierce haircuts, razor-sharp suits, and studded everything!  But I thank God for that concept called balance, ‘coz Spring/Summer 2010 seems like the perfect time to put our naughty side on a break. (more…)

Wanderlust

Thursday, February 25th, 2010

1We met up with one of our favorite girls in NYC Ivy Kirzhner, the head footwear designer of Dolce Vita. She snuck away from work to show us around their lower east side boutique. Dolce Vita is one of our favorite shoe brands because of its amazing design, comfort, and affordable prices. These shoes are seriously made for the fashion magazines because they are so beautiful. We absolutely lust them! (more…)

A Step Forward

Tuesday, February 23rd, 2010

1Sienna Miller and sister Savannah took on London’s Fashion Week with their Fall/Winter collection for their brand, Twenty8Twelve. The collection looked like it was mooched from the 1980’s underground club culture. Acid-dyed denim jeans, denim vests, psychedelic-printed sweaters, velvet, and plump heels carpeted the presentation. (more…)

Bootylicious

1We just got a pair of the Levi’s Ladies Selvedged Skinny Jeans and we absolutely love them. We’ve always been a big fan of selvedged denim and we’re thrilled that Levi’s decided to make their own. This pair has all the distinct elements to make it one of our favs- from the the copper and tan stitching to the classic copper button.

Winter Royalty

Wednesday, February 17th, 2010

nullNo one does fall and winter like the British, and British-born designer Simon Spurr definitely shows that in his Fall 2010 collection for men. It includes a leather double breasted short trench, mohair crew-neck sweater, cashmere and silk cardigan, twill pipe leg jean, and many other pieces that are a little heavy on the blacks and greys—emanating a cool yet classic style. Bonded for Life

Tuesday, February 16th, 2010

1I’ve always been a fan of Herve Leger bandage dresses for years and it’s great to see the development of the designs over the last few seasons. The Fall ‘10 collection reminded me of a hot and sexy comic character in a glammed up outfit (it was kind of reminiscent of Catwoman). I loved it! The silhouettes were tall, skinny, and sexy–every girl’s desire. (more…)

Eve’s Creator

Monday, February 15th, 2010

nullWith his wild collection depicting a disenchanted modern-day Eve, Jerome Salaya Ang wowed the audience at Philippine Fashion Week last November. We caught up with this charming, chinky-eyed designer at his studio way in the heart of Tondo, Manila, where fashion photographer Cholo de la Vega captured him at his element. (more…)

Long Live McQueen

Sunday, February 14th, 2010

1The fashion world is still buzzing about the sad news of Alexander McQueen’s death. I passed by his Chelsea boutique and saw that the shades of his front window were drawn down and the entrance leading to the shop had the grill half down. (more…)

Sunday, February 14th, 2010

1Here is an insider’s look of the press pit during the fashion shows. All the press (videographers/photographers) from around the world fight it out in this pit. (Some are bigger and some are smaller.) (more…)
