I was walking around the other day in my neighborhood of Nolita in NYC and came across the 255 Elizabeth St. space that Nike has had for many years now. At first I thought that Nike had finally given up the space since it housed one of the world’s first Nike iD stores however, they just keep reinventing that space and this time, this idea may stick around for more than a few months.
255 is now doing custom made sportswear that can be turned around within an hour or within a day depending on what your end design is. When you walk in, you are welcomed by a team in aprons asking if you need any help designing your own shirt, hoodie, or jacket. The prices are decent with hoodies going for about $100, but I think it also depends on how many patches and such you want to put on it. They actually have a Philippines patch! Once you design it, you go down the street to do more shopping and you come back in about an hour and they have it ready for you to rock on the street.
This is definitely a place to check out if you have that inner fashion designer in you that needs an outlet. Nike iD has gotten so popular through the years and this store just takes it even further. -RICH RAMA
