Did you enjoy reading Oxygen Fashion Week Correspondent winners’, Agnes Elia and Bjorn Bedayo, shopping adventures? Time to go backstage with them as they get exclusive early entry for the anticipated Oxygen Holiday 2011 fashion show. They get to see the models in rehearsal and rub elbows with Oxygen‘s big boss too.
We got to witness the models rehearsing for the show. The Misshapes arrived and started watching with us. During our free time, I interviewed brand director Jeffrey Bascon. He was very accomodating and easy to get along with as he was explaining why they chose The Misshapes for the show’s background music. It was because they wanted to bring the indie vibe in the scene. According to Mr. Jeff, the main colors of the clothes are black, grey, and white and the main color for the production theme was red to show contrast with the clothes colors. Three parts were included in this collection: concrete tailoring, contrast panels, and free-form knits. -Agnes Elia

After my fellow correspondent, Agnes Elia, and I selected our ensembles, we immediately went to SMX Convention Center to take a first glimpse of the preparation being done for the night’s fashion show. We were greeted by the models’ rehearsals. Ford Supermodel of the World Danica Magpantay, former America’s Next Top Model contestant Claire Unabia, and Pauline Prieto were some of the prominent faces that were practicing on the glossy red runway of Oxygen. While watching them, we got to talk to their very affable and down-to-earth brand director Jeffrey Bascon who surprised me when he mentioned that he was a fellow alumnus of La Salle Green Hills and that simple fact changed my whole impression to this very creative man behind the brand. Hearing his high school stories made me smile because I was able to relate to him in a lot of ways. I really look up to him and he taught me that success really comes to those who work hard for it. – Bjorn Bedayo
