Ten Images of “I” for Ithaca
Published on Monday, June 22, 2009
What do you say when asked who you are? And how do you say it through graphic art? That’s the project in this year’s Ten Images for Ithaca: I. The winning entries–a photographic collage of personal belongings, calligraphic strokes, reworked statistical imagery. These are my favourite answers: I am what I have, I am a data combo in cyberspace, I surface from the graph, and measurements don’t live up to me. How about you? -
Wii Bowling Ball Remote
Published on Monday, June 22, 2009

Say hello to the CTA Digital’s Wii Bowling Ball, another addition to Wii Sports games, but this one’s extra realistic. You can use it by opening the ball in half, put the remote inside, placing your fingers into the three holes and secure the strap to your wrist (unless you want a real life strike with the TV as your pin) and then you’re all set to play Wii bowling ball. -KIT G.

Chillitees “Andar” Music Video Launch @BigSkyMind
Music Video
Published on Saturday, June 20, 2009
10 days, 9 locations, 8 longboards, 5 helmets, 4 riders, 3 cameras, 2 injuries, 16 pairs of shoes, 1 obsession. It took a lot for Chillitees to make their “Andar” music video (that’s from their soph album Espasoul) but just one helluva night to launch it. And, of course, to show it off to their friends first. We managed to sneak in at BigSkyMind last night and caught the early glimpse at their wide-angle longboarding adventure. I’ve been a little crazy about the reemerging soul scene round here in Manila, glad to hear about Pasta Groove and SinoSikat?, so it was just to my cheer that, aside from the main act, Mike’s Apartment was also in the night’s lineup (and covered Radiohead’s “High and Dry”!). Plus there’s She Hates Ballet then Sandwich Raimund Marasigan, bendin and snappin like nuts as usual. This is just about the same stage I’d be looking for if I’m out for Fete de la musique at Metrowalk tonight. Now go check out this Rob Dyrdek-awesome vid! -
Punchdrunk Panda
Graphic Design
Published on Friday, June 19, 2009

“I have a love, and i’m cuter than anyone you can imagine.” That’s what this little panda could say ala Adam Sandler in Punch-drunk Love (2002). Panda-who? That’s the name of this fresh laptop sleeves brand I came across at the ROAM travel fair over the weekend. At 600-900 bucks, you could already shield your laptop with the cutest graphic designed covers. For the kid-at-heart and the more colour-inclined. And if you draw/paint awesome yourself, you can get their blank canvas version and carry your personalised sleeve. Punchdrunk Panda will give you an approving hug.

Jimmy Choo for H&M
H&M
Published on Friday, June 19, 2009

H&M shoppers thought the Matthew Williamson collaboration was the messiah collection, well they should brace themselves for this piece of news. Luxury brand, Jimmy Choo is opening it’s doors to a different market by collaborating with H&M. This is great for young fashionistas out there, I mean, how many people can say they’ve worn Jimmy Choos’ at their teenage years, right?
Tamara Mellon, founder and President of Jimmy Choo said that “We are privileged to be among the fashion greats who have been affiliated with H&M so far, and to be designing a collection appealing to fashion savvy, street smart women, and to be including some great pieces for men, too. Jimmy Choo will bring to H&M a sophisticated, fashion forward, accessible and glamorous collection– the perfect party pieces to buy now and then wear out that night!”
It wil be released in 250 H&M stores on November 14, bet their stocks won’t last a day.-KIT G.
