As I battle it out with the licensing center for my driver’s license, I start thinking if maybe I should just get a bike instead. Besides, they are good for several reasons. 1) Great exercise 2) Reduces air pollution 3) No need to spend money on gas 4) You can sneak through traffic 5) Parking is a breeze…..You get the picture.

Check out designer Arndt Menke’s wooden bike design for his thesis. He reminds us how useful wood can be due to it’s natural retention, expansion and anisotropic properties. It’s clean and sleek design is also an amazing facet of this project.

So…. riding a bike that adds points to our style. Hmm…. That’s something to add to the list.

    Nike SB

After Paul Rodriguez and Stefan Janoski, Nike SB is set to introduce a third member of their 15-strong skate team with his very own signature sneaker. The Omar Salazar Pro Model was designed by James Arizumi, who also worked on the Janoski Pro Model. The most noticeable element of the shoe is what looks like flywire found on the heel. Its the first time Nike SB’s incorporating this design into their sneakers and if it performs as well as it does on all the other Nikes we’ve seen it on, then we’re expecting this to be one really dope skate shoe.

Is it because of the recession that we feel kind of bored? Sometimes we feel like everyone is doing the same thing. From collaborations to marketing strategies, store designs to websites, why does everything feel like some repackaged idea? So when we stumbled upon Alberto Seveso’s work, we couldn’t help but feel the fresh air blow through our windows.

Seveso mixes graphic design with illustration and photography to create this beautiful piece of hybrid art. A great way to remind ourselves that there is hope yet for new ideas to spring forth.

There have been a lot of Yeah Yeah Yeah remixes coming out but this song is one that stands above the rest I believe. I can’t really explain why so,  I’ll let the music do it for me.
