In line with the era-inspired collections of the night, Raoul Ramirez‘ models sashayed straight out of the Jazz Age, hips hitting left, snapping right, lips pouty, and eyeshadow smoky. The dresses were lacy, glittery, beaded, and feathered. In these getups, all the gin joints and the Gatsby’s got nothing on you, hon. Get ready for flapper fabulous!
We haven’t asked, but Raoul Ramirez probably can’t wait for the October premiere of Boardwalk Empire‘s third season. (And if you haven’t been watching, Mr. Ramirez, please come to the office and we’ll have a viewing party!) The designer’s Holiday 2012 collection started with flirty numbers and went on to even flirtier ones. Wink! At first there were jewel tones, there were reds, there were mustards. In the end it was layered black silk on black satin, black braids on black frocks, gold paillettes, gold sequins, gold glitz and glam. We’d like to end this with a soundtrack to your strut, so you can practice before purchasing that netted dress to complete that fringey ensemble. Pop! Six! Squish!—D-SIÓN
