Just on it’s opening day, Philippine Fashion Week has already brought out their share of take-your-breath-away collections, and SM Department Store undeniably held their own. Diverse as they are inevitably trendy, SM started with leather, elastic cotton, and silver embellishment sending a “glam rock” vibe, and transitioned all the way through plaid patterns, sculpted blazers, red sequins, ruffled mini dresses, and feather accented fedoras. And we’re not just raving on the ladies. The men’s collection had their own edge, with a series of graphic tees, motorcycle jackets, and accessories including leather gloves, fedoras and fluffy scarves. Not to mention the sexiness of clean lines, stripes, and subtle patterns on sleek suits.
Their line aptly named “Parisian,” was definitely a refreshing finale. Channeling the ease and comfort of European fashion, the collection was a successful combination of loose fabrics, ruffling and drapery successes, feathered accents, a series of seriously HOT black off-shoulder micro-mini dresses, and of course, the epitome of fashion-ease, the boyfriend blazer. And shoes! How can I forget the shoes?! Three words: Hot Bootie Madness. -KAYCE
