Everything about Ronaldo Arnaldo’s solo show yesterday was interesting. The show started off with the models coming out onto the runway looking confused, dazed and somewhat angry, add mysterious music to this and we really got something to pay attention too. It was sort of like seeing pretty cyborgs emerge from their cocoon, after which they had this dramatic choreographed number which led on to the models coming down the runway one by one.

The pieces of the collection were mostly made up of mostly clean lines, jersey and a muted palette of sand, light aqua and black. Although prints weren’t a major part of the collection, they were slightly present. Whether the pieces were sculpted, folded or just draped on the model, the silhouettes were just so well tailored and neat.

The thing that really highlighted the pieces though were the accessories. Whether it was the jeweled heeled/ feathered boots, the bold bangles or the sculpted hats, they all just made the subtle outfits stand out so well. (Not to mention the dark make up and the pull backed hair.)  His collection gave us the surreal vibe you wouldn’t expect from any typical fashion show.
