How awesome would it be to see some of your favorite artists performing in non-conventional places like, say, an alleyway or a rooftop? Having no rehearsals or fixed agenda, a one-take music video collective in Melbourne called Sideshow Alley was created to capture some of the most raw music moments of today’s chart-topping artists.
Sideshow Alley is about capturing an unplugged version of performance artists in the alleyways of Mebourne and on the rooftops of New York City. They perform one song, in one take, without any rehearsal. By imposing an odd location, time, and technological restrictions, Sideshow Alley brings out a different take on each artists’ music.

“Created by filmmaker Dave Budge, art director Ty Johnson, sound engineer Selwyn Cozens, and joined by a handful of talented creative individuals, the collective produce unique videos from unique moments.”
Recently they’re recorded sessions with Kimbra, The Nymphs, and First Aid Kit. It’s just like those infamous U2 and Beatles rooftop concerts, only I think Sideshow Alley brings the idea to a more massive scale. Can’t wait to see which artists they capture next!–VEGGIE SAMURAI
