From the unusual to the controversial, scents are always interesting. You never know how the actual product will live up to expectations until you get a whiff of it. Meanwhile, we’re left to anticipate their arrivals with some jaw-dropping visuals. Here are some of our favorite ones dropping this Fall/Winter 2012. Will the smell live up to the campaign? We’ll just have to wait ’til September.—WHO’S YOUR DANI?

FAME by LADY GAGA
Lady Gaga has always been one to cause a ruckus, be it through her music, fashion, and new ads for her new fragrance. Fame, the first black perfume, is causing quite a stir with its ad campaign. The second ad (pictured above) features a very dominatrix Gaga-like woman in a skin-tight suit a la Michelle Pfeiffer as Catwoman.

FLORABOTANICA by BALENCIAGA
This ad came out a month ago, but thanks to the latest Kristen Stewart scandal, we’re reviving this. True to her Twilight character, KStew is stark white… with her same blank expression. This scent is described to be a “pretty dangerous flower” instead of just a pretty flower, like most floral-based scents. But honestly, Balenciaga could’ve picked somebody more badass and less… expressionless.

007
How would “Shaken, not stirred” smell like? The latest addition to the Bond line of perfumes (previously done by Avon) has now fallen into the hands of P&G—just in time for the latest James Bond film, Skyfall. 2012 also marks the 50th anniversary of the Bond film franchise.
I wonder if Daniel Craig smells like this? Only one way to find out…

COMME DES GARÇONS’ AMAZINGREEN
Japanese fashion house Comme des Garçons releases its latest unisex scent, Amazingreen. Straying away from the “usual” scents, this spray features notes of ivy, palm leaf and, my favorite, gun powder. Gun powder! Can you believe it? Nothing says strong, sexy, and dangerous like a little bit of that.
