COVER-COVER 27The curiosity driving you crazy? Your appetites whetted? Well the wait is over. Say goodbye to November and yell a big ‘heyo’ to December. STATUS’s newest issue has hit the stands and if you aren’t quick, the issues will be gone in a flash.

If you’re a dirty, sexy thing like us then you’d probably know that the bunnyman on cover isn’t just our idea of an early Easter poster. This December, STATUS went up close and personal with British photographer Ralph John Perou aka. Perou. A celebrity in his own right, he hasn’t just shot amazing people like Ryan Gosling, Justin Timberlake, Daft Punk and even November Heavy Hitter Dita Von Teese. He’s in league with them. A judge in Bravo’s Make Me a Supermodel, and the head-honcho of E4′s Dirty, Sexy Things, Perou has been in front of the camera as much as he’s been behind it.

Also from the land of the Killer Queen is fine arts photographer Julia Fullerton-Batten, who takes us back through the years to a point in time we’d rather forget. Hello puberty! Coming off the heels of her last photo series entitled Teenage Stories, Julia’s new series Awkward focuses on the universally cringeworthy moments adolescence. And just in case you’re wondering, nope, it doesn’t include any sparkly vampires.

You can’t have a Photo issue without featuring a muse so we zeroed in on pop princess Sky Ferreira. Known for her luscious golden locks, she tells us that the secret to big hair isn’t secrets but Moroccan oil and Mane n’ Tail. This 19 year old Jalouse and Vs Magazine covergirl (not to mention Nylon, Elle, and Dazed & Confused alum) is ready to skyrocket passed the stratosphere with her newest EP, As If! (a homage to—wouldn’t you know it—Blondie.)

STATUS has a mad lineup of musicians for you in December’s Maestro section featuring music mogul Tech N9ne, hip-hop hyphenates After the Smoke, indie-folk band Deer Tick, big dog Bow Wow, super synth duo Tarsius’s Diego Mapa and Jay Gapasin, and recovering nomad Cass McCombs.

You can also catch our Masterminds including 90210 heartthrob Matt Lanter, The Adventures of Tintin writers Edgar Wright and Joe Cornish, former Terry Richardson apprentice Keiichi Nita, New York-based visual artist Naomi Reis, The Coveteur photographer Jake Rosenberg, and Filipino-Danish designer Alexander Manamis.

Don’t miss the creative collective we’ve gathered in Block Party highlighting talent like conceptual artist Julia Chiang, graphic designer and painter Anton Lopez, performance artist Young Kim, graphic designer Chris Rubino, photographer Dan Pak, painter and sculptor Cody Hudson, and installation artist Jon Santos.

Teeming with hyphy editorials that glow with the fluo and buys that’ll help you strikin’ that pose with swag—you’ll need it for our release party! PAP PAP and away we go!—DEXYLEBOWSKI
