Wherever you are right now is about to become a sea of eargasmic music, sweat, tattoos, badass fashion, and famed personalities if you grab our Sex, Love, and Rock & Roll Issue. It’s strong, it’s racy, and it’s gonna hit you real hard—but damn good.
I’ve finally regained a little bit of hearing in my left ear after drowning in Overexposed, the new album from our cover boys Adam Levine, Mickey Madden, PJ Morton, James Valentine, and Matt Flynn of Maroon 5. Yes, them. Can you believe it? But despite them revealing their private parts to us, these guys can never be too Overexposed—if you know what I mean. Barely the same band that first hit the waves with “Harder to Breathe,” Maroon 5 step away from alt-rock licks and nosedive into a pop-centric direction. But that’s what love and rock & roll is all about, right? The thrill of risks, of living on the edge, and of just doing the shit you wanna do.
That drool you have beside your lip right now? That’s courtesy of Spanish artist Berto Martínez’ hand job. Now, get over it, and give him a hand.

When it comes to real rock grit, count on Soundgarden’s Chris Cornell and his sexy voice to pleasure you. The band “Live to Rise” from their breakup, and now, the sky’s their limit as Chris hints on an upcoming album to be released around September/October. Down that energy drink, because we’re ready for a Round 2!
Danish designer Henrik Vibskov is notoriously conceptual. He and his designs are walking wallpapers of boobies, trippy patterns, shapes, and color combinations. While slightly confusing at first, his bizarre aesthetic holds together in the end. Henrik talks to STATUS about his other interests, from playing at Coachella, publishing books, collaborating on art projects, watching sci-fi movies, and more. Daring and bold, Henrik is a beautiful chaos (and you’ll obviously see that in the spreads).
It would be an understatement to say that you will fall in love with Keane and their new album, Strangeland. Not only did the band score their fifth UK Number One with Strangeland, but they also got to show how much they’ve progressed after 8 years of fine tuning their sound. They’ve done the departure album, they’ve done an EP with a rapper, but it’s now that they realized why fans love them in the first place.
There’s no love like the first.
Also dream away with our Maestro lineup: The Temper Trap, Silversun Pickups, Marissa Nadler, These United States, Hansom, Foxes, and Jukebox the Ghost. And read about the Masterminds that are shaking the scene today: African-American albino model Shaun Ross; illustrators David Finch and Tokwa Peñaflorida; photographer David Titlow; and actors Sarah Bolger, Janina Gavankar, and Tyler Blackburn.
Block Party can’t party rock without ‘em tattoos. Stacey Jaxx’ ink got nothing on those done by Manila’s very own Ron Poe (P&P Tattoo), Camsy Valencia (Eclectic Tattoo), Wiji Lacsamana (Dyuntats), and Ding Fernandez (Skin Graphics). Get to know more about the guys who make you look tough and rough behind their needle sets.
Can we just say that our art director Patrick Diokno and fashion girls DizzyRizzy and Lady Zaza also showed their balls when they shot our editorial at RONAC? Yes. It’s dark, and it could most probably blissfully tire you the same way Louiza Vick’s and Zeko Eon’s editorials could.
The day holds strong and tonight will stay young. On the floor, on the table, face up on your bed, or whatever, read up on our July 2012 issue. Satisfy yourselves, my fine-haired friends.—HITGIRL
