Two of our STATUS cover girls, Katy Perry and Lady GaGa, made it cool to wear unusual “costumes” again. Let’s see and read how our STATUS X MTV EMA: EVERYONE’S A FREAKIN’ STYLIST contest winners would style them.

Our Mother Monster is ruling the 2011 MTV Europe Music Awards 2011 with six nominations followed closely by Katy Perry with 4. As they go head to head for Best Live, Best Female, and Best Pop, we here at STATUS are just chilling, waiting for them to blow our minds off with their performances, and hoping they’d lay low on couture this time.

Here are Dolly, Camille, Patricia, CJ, and Trisha’s (sounds like new members of Spice Girls) ideal outfits for our two nominees. Girl power it is.

Katy Perry knows no shame when it comes to dressing for awards shows as she loves to flaunt her rockin’ bod. Anything goes for MTV’s ever changing colored carpet and I’m sure she wouldn’t mind flashing some skin (as she always does) in a pair of sequined Marc Jacobs shorts with a glittering bandeau.—Dolly K. I’d style Katy Perry—in a way no viewer would expect—to emit her other side, but maintaining her signature look. Nude eye shadows and maroon lips for her makeup. Her hair is to be pulled up in a ponytail with bangs. She’ll wear something cropped for her top, and NO heels.—Camille A. Bayan

I’d like to style Katy Perry the way she’s known for: charming, sweet, at the same time edgy. I’d match a pink skirt and accessories with leopard prints to make it a bit playful. She’d also have a second outfit that shouts rockstar with the glittery details and American flag prints. Her hair should be in curls and she’ll have smoky eyes, a bit of blush on, and a nude or a pink lipstick.—Patricia Joyce Aro

The whole look would be retro-modern rocker chic.
Hair – Updo/ Messy bun.
Makeup – Thick black eyeliner with lots of mascara and matte red lips. Maybe even a fake beauty mark somewhere on her face.

For Lady GaGa, this outfit is comprised of a leather jacket, zebra skinny jeans for a touch of a traditional GaGa, star earrings in yellow gold, a black handbag, and yellow pumps. Her hair can be pulled up along with smoky eyes and red lips for emphasis.—Trisha Mae J. Cerdeña
