Being given early access to the phenomenal and most-awaited season of Netflix, Stranger Things Season 2 has got us ready to burst into childlike wonder as it captivates us yet again as a larger evil looms over the town of Hawkins, Indiana. With the show being one-part Spielberg and two-parts Stephen King that channels the ragtag spirit of the ‘80s-era, the gang is back to face their new reality – now with the dark underbelly of the town revealed, and a faceless embodiment of evil proven to be real, things truly got stranger, but perhaps one of it’s important turns is it’s willingness to explore each character’s shared trauma with a surprising no holds-barred approach, successfully delivering a painful engagement. – CASA BIANCA
The stakes are also higher for each one with Will Byers, who was once missing throughout the stretch of the first season, now at the heart of the entirety of the show and a vital element in the picture. Building a stage that resembles the Upside Down, Season 2 dives into a similar setting, one that makes you feel it’s comforting familiarity yet also demands it’s difference to be felt. With the cast welcoming new friendly and not-so friendly faces, it adds a dynamic facet into the story you wouldn’t have thought was missing in the first season, such as being able to dig deeper into Caleb and Gaten’s subplot as well as the addition of red-headed arcade genius plus skater girl, Sadie to the group.
We all have a lot of things to say, but we have no choice but to bite our tongues and swallow our words down. Still, just like how the gang sometimes communicate using morse code, we thought of giving you guys a glimpse of what you should expect through Season Two’s official playlist. When words can’t be said, perhaps the music will speak louder for us and deliver you this message: something wicked this way comes, and yes, this is something worth binge-watching.
