Last week, I pulled Lillee from her rest day to go to an event at Fully Booked, High Street. The rain was pouring and taxi lines almost reached the other terminal, but there was no stopping us. The event was for the album launch of SuperHeavy featuring its super group members—The Rolling Stones vocalist Mick Jagger, Eurythmics founder Dave Stewart, soul singer Joss Stone, Academy Award-winning composer and global superstar A.R.Rahman, and reggae star Damian Marley.

The event, Superhebigat Nite, was for celebrating icons who defined the rock music genre of today: U2, Nirvana, Sonic Youth, Queen, and Sting. It included special screenings of never-before-seen footage of these rock geniuses and reminiscing the origins and humble beginnings of music that changed history. Hosted by Francis Brew, the event was fully booked with our own legends: Pepe Smith, Resty Fabunan, Nathan Azarcon, Johnny Alegre, and more.

It was a night with overflowing beer courtesy of Red Horse and giveaways: an autobiography of Guns N’ Roses and two electric guitars (which everyone in the room was pining for). I swear, the tension in the span between the draw and announcing the winner was as thick as stale beer. Superhebigat night? Why, yes, sir.Cheers.– ROBIN SPARKLES
