Leeroy New Caraface Other people seem more passionate than artist Leeroy New and fashion designer Kermit Tesoro in claiming credit for this Lady Gaga-donned silicone muscle dress piece featured on a magazine cover this month.

All I know is that it was based from a piece in their collaborative show for Philippine Fashion Week Holiday 2010, presented in the context of a shared vision. Last week, New released Caraface, a series of facemasks (see above) done in the same style. Why not? New always had this visceral streak in his solo work. Tesoro, meanwhile, continues to develop more clothes and even presented his own art project in an exhibit last month. What’s the issue?!

You would remember last year when Idris Vicuña released this awesome skate video shot across Manila. It’s unfortunately down by now, but here is a trailer for Awesomer–an awesomer edit of the same video or an awesomer sequel to the first one? Whatever this is, it appears to have more balls, and I’m even more excited to see this in full.

I saw these girls playing “Past is Past, Bitch!” the other weekend, and boy was it exciting. They reminded me of a younger Duster, and by “younger,” I mean rougher, rowdier, and more incapable of regret. A week later, I saw this new music video, “Sssikreto.” How I longed to hear a legit all-girl rock band in Manila before this!—NANSAN
