Do you want “full-tilt, power-pop catharsis and ecstatic blaze-of-glory euphoria – catchier than H1N1?” Then you’ll want Michel Poiccard, the long-awaited album from Brooklyn-based band, The Death Set. Witness the mayhem yourself this Saturday, March 26, at the Music Hall of Williamsburg. This isn’t just a release party, its a rock concert featuring other bands like Spankrock, Ninjasonik, Hood Chef, and DJ C-Lo. Run, don’t walk to the L train. You’ll hate yourself if you don’t make it.
According to one of the band’s founders Johnny Siera, “Writing this record was a crazy and even scary process for us. Since the last release, as many of you may know, we lost our dear band member and friend, Beau Velasco. It was probably the gnarliest time we have been through as a band. We wanted the record to be a celebration, for Beau, for us, and for what The Death Set is about. While it was almost scary to explore some of the styles we did on this record, we are glad we took that risk and realized them. We’re especially glad peeps seem to have understood what we set to achieve.”
So come one, come all! With a special reduced price of just $10, you have no excuse not to go. And as if that band line-up wasn’t enough, the band is giving away etched Death Set Skateboards, VANS shoes, and Mishka tees. Everyone 16+ is welcome to party!
