gorillaI’ve always been attracted to trippy art movements that show images without harsh contours just like in Impressionism and now in Victor Van Gaasbeek’s Sliced Pixel Project. This aesthetic can also be felt in music such as shoegaze. At first, they don’t make sense because they seem rough, unpolished, and abstract—but on a closer look or listen—they turn out to be real gems.

His graphics may look like overly stretched pictures, but that’s entirely the point—you need to see beyond the surface until the details fall into place. Works like magic, but really—it’s all in the technique. -TINDABS
