It’s been a while since we’ve been to a gig, so when we found out that A*fest was coming up, all of the editors here jumped at the chance to cover at least one night each. (At least one… please….coz we need a change of scenery. It’s not easy being in the office all day).

It was such a breath of fresh air to see bands from different parts of Asia (Q from Japan, Sinister Left from Hong Kong, and Free Love from Malaysia), while at the same time hearing our favorite local acts, (Camerawalls, Ciudad, Arigato Hato) play live.

The place was small and intimate, and filled up as the night continued. We looked around and saw everyone completely hypnotized by the music, and that’s when we realized “Damn, we need more festivals in Manila.”

Come on, if music was never limited by boundaries, why should gigs?? Send more bands over. Rep your country Asia. We’re looking forward to it.
