Support Your Friends or SYF is an upcoming streetwear brand that are not slacking off when it comes to making waves in the local scene. They have musical acts and influencers like Clara Benin and Curtismith wearing them with pride. But for what SYF stands for, it’s no shock that they’re garnering this much attention. They’re more than a brand— they’re a movement. SYF are making more than fashion statements. And their latest statement is for us to Come Together. — by Rogin Warhol, photos and videos from Support Your Friends
SYF is having their first pop up launch in Kapwa Studio Makati this December 1 2017, 4 PM. The pop-up is promptly entitled Come Together. This is their way of giving thanks to their followers who supported them regardless that they’re a young brand. This is to celebrate their first year as well! There will be soju courtesy of GCRM and burgers from The Burgery. It’s a dope get together you don’t want to miss.
This brand was founded in 2015 by two brothers, Ralph and Randell Cruz in Manila, Philippines. But the idea was born in a bedroom at San Francisco, California after indulging, living and breathing the freshness of their youth. This experience reflects in the clothes that they create and the simple act that their name indicates.

This streetwear doesn’t only give you cred. It gives you something to reflect on. Is it about supporting your thriving, freelance creatives squad? Do they mean something deeper than that? It all relies on us. But for now, we can only go to their pop up and look at their collections to see for ourselves. It’s clear that they don’t only want us to wear their clothes. They also want us to wear their “call to arms” statement to support the people that support us the most. Wearing that with their pastel hoodies, chic striped shirts, and witty jerseys.
