A-Venue’s dance floor was set ablaze and we got to witness the twelve dopest college hip-hop dance groups battle their hearts out last night at the Nike Women Dance Battle Event, as Nike launches its Nike Sister Series: a collection of bold footwear that doesn’t compromise on performance, yet still delivers style and colorful excitement.

UP Manila’s Indayog, Mapua Breakers, Lyceum Dance Company, Assumption Dance Company, San Sebastian College Dance Troupe, La Consolacion Synckupado, FEU Dance Company, Central College of the Philippines Crimson Blaze, Miriam College’s Company of One, UST College of Fine Arts & Design One Shade Dance Troupe, Letran Streetbeat, and the Company of Ateneo Dancers outdanced one another for the coveted title and glory (plus those iPod prizes and Nike GCs that are just suhweeet).

Of course it wouldn’t be called a battle without judges involved right? And it’s only the cream of the crop of hip-hop and dance who were just for such a position: Mycs Villoso from Philippine Hip-hop Federation, Chinnie Nepumuceno from Steps Dance Studio, and J Masta of Battle Crew Philippines and Team Vibe breakdancers.

Embassy Superclub’s DJ Mars Miranda and DJ Ace Ramos were on the decks and gave the crowd a mouthful of ill beats to groove on through the night.

All guests and participants were treated to a day full of awesomeness like body painting and tattoo art.
